OHIO! Celina to be exact. Camping by Grand Lake, a lake that has been plagued by algea and virtually shut down. Normally used by skiers and boaters, it is now just a big pool of water. You can see by one of the pics how the algea has killed a lot of fish, etc. The backroads I used to get here went through Amish country and I got this pic of the horse. Before this horse turned around, I thought it was a U.S. Senator. Unlike the mennonite girls the day before, the Amish do not want their pictures taken. I could have taken a hundred of them as they passed me in their buggies. All of them waved! In answer to what time I will be home Saturday, I will be there between 12:00 and 1:00. I am staying in Athens on Friday night. Tomorrow I will go to Urbana, Circleville, Athens and not sure after that. Might turn around and go back! See you all soon!

RANDY,
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome accomplishment!! Your mental and physical toughness is that of a big time athlete. I'm sure you'll be in demand as a motivational speaker in sharing
your adventure. Good luck with your final days, I bet you'll have plenty of escorts to
bring you home. See you soon!!
Bill Matthews
Randy, By what route will you come into Parkersburg on Saturday? Maybe we'll ride our bikes out and greet you along the way and escort you home! Roger Sheppard
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your almost done!! That is amazing!!

Randy,
ReplyDeleteYou The MAN! According to most people your accomplishment is incomprehensible!
Keep up the sensational work and enjoy the last few miles.
Keep your eyes on the STEEPLE and if you look carefully you can see the Holy Bible on the Altar of your soon to be new church in Mineral Wells.
Bill Fletcher
Today I was in MW at the post office waiting in line behind a cyclist to put my letters in the box, and it began to dawn on me that it was Bill Fletcher, who was not wearing a helmet (sorry, Bill - had to say that because it plays into my thought process), which made me think of you and your safety and how you are doing on your trip. I didn't know how to find your blog, so I googled you and found a post where someone had met up with you and linked from their blog to yours. I was pretty happy about that!
ReplyDeleteI just looked through your posts and pictures from here backwards, and it looks like you have had a great (but exhausting) adventure.
Thanks for sharing and posting pictures. It was an interesting read, and I look forward to your return and an explanation about the cell phone theft. :-) See you soon!
Randy,
ReplyDeleteJust think, you will be riding into town
on Saturday, at HIGH NOON, kind of like Roy Rogers and Trigger and The Lone Ranger and Silver, except in your case it will be Randy and PJ. You will be riding Tall and Proud in the saddle, with a smile on your face and more than likely, a tear or two in your eyes.
I know as you pedal closer and closer to home you really get excited about your DREAM actually becoming a reality. So continue to ride safely and keep your eye on the STEEPLE.
If you look closely, you not only can see the pews, pulpit, Holy Bible, and altar in the interior of the church, but you can see the crucifix placed appropriately in the sanctuary for all to witness.
Have a Super day! Just three days remaining!
Bill Fletcher
You know Mr. Matthews is correct. You could have a side occupation now of being a motivational speaker. When does the book come out?
