Not much to report on today. Easy day. Morning was rough with a 6 mile climb but it got better. I am off my original route , thanks to the kind people that gave me a shorter and safer route away from all the oil rigs and tankers. Oil is being drilled everywhere. In the middle of corn fields, there may be two oil wells being pumped. People here say it is a mixed blessing. Ruinng the quiet nature and pumping up the economy. Every day brings some ups and downs (in addition to the hills). This little dog came hobbling over to me out of nowhere. It has a large tumor on its right rear leg, matted and runny eyes and is very sad looking. I held it for a while and it wanted down. I put it down and it hobbled back to an RV parked nearby. I found out there is no humane society here and no one can do anything! It was very sad for me. I did shed a tear as he hobbled away. Life can be very cruel. I am doing fine and will be off to Surrey, ND tomorrow. May take the little dog with me if he is around when I get up! 4urrey is about 10 miles east of Minot, if you are following me on a map.
