Looonng day! The trip to Cooperstown , ND today was a hot trip of 87 miles. 22 of which were under construction. I met a family of six this afternoon who warned me. They had 3 flat tires. I have yet to have a flat and YES I am pounding on the wooden bench I am sitting on! Tomorrow is my last day in ND and I head into Minnesota. While eating dinner an hour ago I was watching the tornado warnings in the towns I will be headed into in 2 - 3 days. Glad I took that day off now! I am over half way home and feeling well. The bike is doing better than me on most days, but she's not quite as old either, not to mention built a little better. Thanks Kenny and Lisa for the prayers! I do a lot of that too, but I realize God probably has little sympathy for an idiot riding a bike over 3000 miles when he has 2 cars! The pics are of a little house that grabbed my attention. I could imagine chickens all around scratching for grubs and beetles, little kids playing in the yard, and a farm woman standing in the doorway in her long dress and apron. I wondered what life was like for them. I also wanted you to see my little tent in the park by the gazebo. Hoping some rock band doesn,t start about 9. Liesa, I am a few days ahead of schedule but I should be home sometime the first week of August unless something happens! Sydney, you are cool too! miss you all!

  1. Hey, Mod!
I sure wish I had got to hear your presentation in the gym that morning that you
showed PJ to the kids...I can't imagine how everything fits on that bike. Some of the folks I've got watching your journey have suggested that you pitch your tent in the hotel, too, just so you won't get spoiled sleeping in a real bed. I'm taking bets on who all thinks you will come home and have to buy a sleep-number bed so you can keep your side extra firm (like sleeping in a tent on the ground.) I'm looking forward to eating lunch with you this school year and hearing more about the new insights you have gained by making this trip. I hope the weather cooperates and is in your favor.
